The Keys/Tips to Become The Next Travel Intern
Two successful seasons. Almost two hundred received applications. Thirteen placements. Two ultimate season winners. The Travel Intern by The Panoramic Soul continues for its third season, which will be launched later this year.
In this article, we will discuss various keys and tips on how to become the next travel intern. But what is the significance of being The Travel Intern in the first place?
Winning The Travel Intern by The Panoramic Soul is a Form of Validation.
You will encounter a lot of travel-related contests that are primarily raffles, which will test your luck. In The Travel Intern, everything will be tested during the entire process – your writing skills, how you take good pictures, your passion, and lastly, how you will grow together with The Panoramic Soul, which was only formed less than three years ago.
The Internship Expands Beyond the “Reign.”
So many places, so little time, and even fewer staff members.
As the TPS family is composed of professional individuals with full-time jobs assigned around the world, their time is limited, and the travel designations will be surely passed on to staff members and travel interns, both previous and current. This means that the top prize of the season is just the tip of the iceberg of the adventure that awaits you. For example, Season 1 Winner Fratri Edson Silva won about a year ago, yet there will be more travel assignments waiting for him this year, together with the reigning Season 2 Winner, Audie Vinci Batausa.
It is a Holistic Learning Experience.
Being The Travel Intern is not just about going to various places; it is becoming a part of a growing family who shares the same passion as you do – to see the world and have the vision to look through its imperfections. TPS is an informal group, but we are firm about the objectives of the project.
Now let’s go to the basic tips to help you prepare for the third season, should you be interested to join:
We Appreciate Non-Recycled Letters of Intent.
In the past two seasons, we got a good grasp of the quality of the letters of intent being submitted. There are submissions that leave an impression, which makes them memorable. However, we strongly recommend not recycling your applications because we will surely remember what you wrote the last time you applied. It’s been months since you last applied, and we’re sure you’ve learned something new that can significantly improve your chances of getting in. In addition, just like any application, recycling gives the impression that you’re just throwing your chances without exerting extra effort, which is something we don’t like.
Honesty Goes a Very Long Way.
Plagiarism and image theft have been observed in the past seasons, and this is something that is not new to us. There are some applicants who submit plagiarized letters of intent, as well as stolen images to claim as their own. We will eventually find out, and once confirmed, it will be grounds for a permanent application ban for the succeeding seasons.
Be You.
While The Panoramic Soul is looking for interns with significant writing, traveling, and photography experience, we will take an inexperienced intern over an experienced one with overinflated “pride.” Of course, traveling establishes your confidence, but confidence can come across as being arrogant and “privileged.” We want our interns to grow and get the most out of the experience.
With all these in mind, we’d love to welcome you to our humble family – The Panoramic Soul.
#spoileralert: The Travel Intern Season III might be the biggest in terms of geographical coverage depending on how the winner will utilize it, but it will definitely be not the last.
